Build & Release Engineer | Calabasas, CA
Job Summary
The Company is searching for a diligent Build and Release Engineer who will be responsible for source control builds and the timely deployment of a groundbreaking music creation application into a live production environment. The ideal candidate will be accountable for maintaining source code integrity in a dedicated repository, resolving build and test issues, and coordinating branch strategies. This position reports to the Vice President of Technology Operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage overall build and test system
- Investigate, debug, and resolve build and test issues
- Collaborate with Engineering to refine and advance development processes
- Develop tools to improve efficiency of integration and release procedures
- Build and deploy general releases, web products, service packs, and beta products
- Assist development efforts via change management protocols during the addition of new platforms, creation of compiler updates, or operating system changes
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Release or IT Engineering
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or similar concentration
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with Ruby and Shell scripting
- Excellent coordination, planning, and written and verbal communication skills
- Desire and ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
Pluses
- Familiarity with C# / C++ and/or Java, as well as Python
- Skilled in automated build systems
- Experience with source control management systems such as SVN or Beanstalk
